Gotta Love The South

pigskin_skirmish2.jpg

Wright Thompson has a fantastic write-up on ESPN’s E-Ticket about the South’s obsession with the pigskin. Maybe he’s preaching to the choir with us, but it’s one of the best things we’ve read on the WWL in quite some time.

Go check it out.

Pain in the Neck identified for Cleveland

Ben Cleveland has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus stretch, a stretched nerve which causes numbness in an area that runs from the neck to the hand on Cleveland’s left side.

Assistant trainer Eric Linson has accompanied Cleveland to Little Rock and Houston for testing. Linson said that Dr. Glen Pait at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences diagnosed the problem, that experts in Houston and trainers from the UA had suspected, earlier this week.

Linson also stated that it could be several weeks to several months before Cleveland could return.

Before Cleveland can return, Linson said the tight end must get back his strength and range of motion in his arm, as well as show no symptoms. At the moment, Cleveland has lost strength in his left arm.

“Basically, his weakness is from the elbow up,” Linson said.

No decision has been made in regards to redshirting Cleveland for the season.
